The Zanzibar Gender Coalition (ZGC) was established in 2005 after an assessment of advocacy capacities in Zanzibar.
The Coalition was envisionedto serve as a watchdog, monitoring government practices and ensuring accountability, especially on issues of human rights and gender-based injustices.
